Karen Luria, MA, EdS, a Design Professional, established her own full-service interior
design firm, Karen Luria Interior Identity Inc, in 2002. Karen’s design education is an
amalgamation of many years specializing in the behavioral sciences (social and cultural
factors, environmental influences and cognition), a minor in art, numerous Interior Design
courses and influencing factors from her famil...y background. The focus of her studies
has been Art, Human Development and Cultural Identity. Elements that best describe her
individualized, timeless, lifestyle approach to all styles of design, from classical to
contemporary, are function, comfort, warmth, color and texture. Working in Europe and
traveling to approximately 100 countries are other factors that have greatly contributed
to her many years of formal and informal design education.
Karen’s current design recognition includes several Association Awards and articles
about her in numerous Local and National Design Magazines, Newspapers and Association
Publications. Home and Design Magazine, in the 10th Anniversary Collector's Edition,
Summer 2009 issue, in an article entitled Timeless Style, chose her design as one of
the finest from the past decade for exemplifying “originality, a mastery of scale and
proportion” and creating “environments that have transformed the lives of [her] clients”.
